I think my surroundings are getting to me

Today I did something that is almost henious in the world of indie rock snobery. Thankfully I'm above all that .... right .... At any rate, I bought a rap album. The question I keep asking my self as I listen to The Roots' "The Tipping Point" is: did I buy this because i like it, or because Scarborough has forced me to need rap?

Somewhere, hope is hiding

Sometimes something incredibly small can help you realise something important. Yesterday, when I took out the garbage, I found a colony of mice in the garbage can outside. They were stuck in it and would have died if I had left them there. Most of the mice tried to hide themselves under an empty plastic bag, but one just stopped and looked at me. I grabbed the garbage, tipped the can over, closed the lid on the garbage comparment and I walked away. There's hope for the mice. Somewhere, there is always hope.

Crappy Laundromat

I was all excited for being entierly caught up on laundry for the first time since october today. I had a plan to use two washers, throw that stuff in two dryers, and then use the same washers AGAIN. Only one problem... One of my 'faithful' washing machines is broken and the spin cycle doesn't work. I just spent half an hour wringing cold water out of my clothing so I could dry it properly... Stupid washing machine. Now I can't use that washer again, so I'm stuck with some crappy one load at a time deal. Two would be so much more convient.

All this loafing is taking it out of me

Reading week is proving to be pretty damn good. I mean, there was a good time on the weekend where I various spent time in A-11 (which was, if possible, dirtier than usual and the smell of garbage probably came from the garbage on the floor), played a game of risk and ended up watching trailer park boys with Mike and Brian. There was an extreemly uneventful emo-day where I managed to listen to Death Cab for Cutie and watch Pirates of the Carribean. Tuesday provided an evening at my sisters house, with more Risk and more Death Cab. Tonight allowed me the concession of fish and chips and the opportunity to repair a friendship I didn't even know was damaged.
The unfortunate part about all of this? I don't have enough reading done yet... Damn you Long John Silver, why can't you hurry up with your pirating so I can move onto my American Lit? Plus I'm really tired. Man, reading week is really taking it out of me.

Signal to Noise

I decided to just keep going with the radio this evening. I didn't even leave until ten to one in the morning. It was a lot of fun in the booth, telling stories about all five songs I played in the 50 minutes I was there. I'm not sure anybody was listening, but it was still fun.

Wow, my house is dirty.

Reading week?

In a little over 10 hours, I should be done this hideous religion midterm that will probably destroy my soul (ironically, since it is, after all, religion) Then I can relax for a while... but then, after that, I have to read. Adn tehn read more. And then maybe go see Run With The Kittnes, but after that, I'll have to read. Basically, it looks like a lot of reading this week. They really weren't kidding when they named this guy.

Where the gals dem gone?

Ouxaman strikes again!

My roommate is currently in the shower belting out a kyp dynamite-esq version of "I love technology" ... I wonder of he knows I can hear him?

I am procrastinating

I should be studying for an exam I have on saturday. But I'm not, instead I'm putting this message on my Blog... Hmmm... At least I'm not watching Scrubs. Uh-oh. I think it's time to watch Scrubs.

Um, uh

Today in American Lit Professor Dolan said the words 'um' or 'uh' at least Two Hundered and Sixty Four times. I don't know whats funnier, the fact that this works out to an 'um' every thirt-six seconds or that I bothered to count.

Potatoe Burrito

I went downtown to see my sister today. We were going to go out for lunch, but in the end, we were both late and it turned into dinner. We went to a place called New York Subs on Queen street. All I have to say is that they have the best potatoe burritos in the world. Really.

Run with the Kittens

How do I even begin to describe a day like yesterday?
Oh right - It all started with me missing the GO bus by about a minute (as per usual). I was already late, and then the traffic was bad, so I ended up being late by about two hours. But, I got to YorkIn one peice, walked over to Winters and saw Jared and Josh sitting there in the window.
Yes, indeed, Mr. Joshua James Comer, whom I had not seen in about a year was at York. And from there, things really took off. The first thing we did was hit the beer store. We sat in chairs drinking warm imports staring at the class across the way from Jared's room. Something that has not happened to me in a long time happened in Jared's room. The fabric of my pants ripped - not the seam of teh pants, but the very fabric itself died out on me. I though about it, and realised that in the seven or so times that this has happened to me in my life, Josh has been present for ever single last occasion. It's a terrible conincidence.
Eventually, after i tried to staple my pants together (I was only moderatley successful) we went to the restaurant for dinner and ended up sitting there, Jared, Candice, Josh, myself and variously a few other people that moved in and out of the conversation. We talked about old times. We talked about where people are now days, and what they are up to these days, and we drank more beer.
Then we went back to Jared's room and listened to some of his latest recordings and they were pretty good. After that, we decided to go downtown to see a band called Run With The Kittens. They play at this place on Queen street every tuesday night. They might very well be the most intense indie rock preformance I have ever seen. They transcend Genre. I cannot make up some fictionalised genre like "post-emo sci-fi core" or "Post-grunge folk Rock" for them. They are just plain too weird and good for a genre. Incidently, a guy I went to high school with and hadn't talked to in a few a years was there as well, so the old times were really rollin' last night.
It was a damn good day.
